After a long wait Martin Ling has finally secured the services of Luton striker Sam Parkin on loan until January 10 2009 with a view to a permanent move. Parkin was a prolific League 1 scorer with Swindon between 2002 and 2005 scoring 73 times in 142 games and has subsequently played for Ipswich and Luton.

Manager Ling told the clubs official website, "The ingredients are all there for him to be a very good signing for us." Parkin has welcomed the move back to League 1 stating, "I'm really happy to have everything sorted and it's good to be back involved at League 1 level."

Parkin re-unites with ex Luton striker Adam Boyd and on loan Luton striker Dean Morgan. He will wear the number 27 shirt and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's game at Yeovil.
