Chambers has spent lengthy spells in the treatment room this season following surgery on both calves and a hamstring problem.
The 30-year-old made his first start since November in Tuesday night's goalless draw against Brighton, but lasted just five minutes before picking up a shin injury.
"It was a nasty injury and he needed about 25 stitches," said manager Russell Slade. "He's so unlucky at the minute and we hope he has a speedy recovery."
