Death of a Legend

It has been announced on the club's official website today, 4 September 2008, that former Orient striker, Tommy Johnston, has died in Australia at the age of 81.

Johnston was voted the greatest all time Orient player in a 1999 orient supporters poll and he made 190 appearances in two spells for the Orient between 1956 and 1961 scoring a club record 123 goals.

In a professional career lasting 17 years Johnston also played for Kilmarnock, Darlington, Oldham, Norwich, Blackburn and Gillingham.

Condolences are sent to his family and friends.
