Leyton Orient V Swindon at Matchroom Stadium - Match Preview

Orient to monitor Symes

Leyton Orient will hand a fitness test to Michael Symes ahead of the Boxing Day clash with Swindon.

The striker missed the 3-1 defeat to Scunthorpe - a result which ended the O's eight-match winning run - with a hamstring problem but is hoping to be fit to meet Paolo Di Canio's side.

Orient remain without their captain Nathan Clarke, who is expected to be sidelined for a further month after suffering a hairline fracture in his foot.

Kevin Lisbie and Gary Sawyer are expected to be fine despite the pair struggling with minor knocks last week.

Boss Russell Slade has no other injury problems as his side finally get the chance to bounce back from their defeat against Scunthorpe, after Saturday's match at Notts County was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Di Canio could welcome back Alan Navarro back into the Swindon midfield.

The 31-year-old has not played a first-team match for the Robins since he damaged his medial ligaments in the 2-2 draw with Coventry two months ago, but could make his return against the O's.

Midfielder Tommy Miller replaced Simon Ferry in the second half of Friday's 5-0 victory over Tranmere to make his second appearance since returning to first-team action, having missed the whole of November through injury. He is expected to play some part again.

Jay McEveley's knee surgery means he misses out once more, with Joe Devera set to deputise again while striker Paul Benson is still on loan at Portsmouth, having recently extended his deal for a further month.
