Leyton Orient have finally succeeded in their vital search for an experienced striking partner for Gary Alexander by signing midfielder/striker Andy Scott from Oxford United on a contract until the end of the 2004/05 season.

Scott, who was the leading scorer for the U's last season has not appeared for their first team since October 2003 after breaking a leg at the beginning of the season. Now fully fit, he has passed a medical at The Matchroom Stadium and is looking forward to play for the Orient, "I knew the gaffer here wanted me and wants to play me in my preferred position and that's a big turning point for me."

Manager Ling stated, " He's a player I've been monitoring for some time.........proven quality as a wide player who scores goals, gets crosses in and can play up front as well."

Scott is expected to play on Saturday at Scunthorpe as Orient seek a first win in six but to do so will need to improve on their lacklustre performances of late at a ground where their record is, to say the least, second rate.
