When these sides met at the beginning of the year Brighton thrashed their rivals by five goals, but there was never danger of a repeat as both sets of strikers struggled to make an impact.
Slade said: "We are a little disappointed we didn`t get all three points. I thought it was even in the first 45 minutes but after the interval we controlled the game and looked the more likely side to get all three points.
"My lads were certainly disappointed at the final whistle and that shows how far they have come and how far they have progressed in recent weeks.
"We have now tasted defeat just once in our last 16 league and cup games and that shows the spirit and character in the side.
"Although everyone has been talking about our forthcoming cup tie against Arsenal, my players were totally focussed in this game and really did themselves proud."
