Spring has been troubled by a calf problem recently and had to come off during the first half of Tuesday night's win over Swindon.
Fellow midfielder Adam Chambers will be out for another three weeks with a shin injury so recent signing Jason Crowe, who came on for Spring, could start.
On-loan Tottenham winger Paul-Jose Mpoku was on international duty with Belgium Under-19s on Thursday night but will be in the squad.
Striker Alex Revell was substituted during the second half against Swindon as he was struggling with a stomach upset in the days leading up to the match but will be fine.
