But Orient were a different side after the interval and Ryan Jarvis reduced the arrears before Carlisle's Danny Livesey diverted Jarvis' header into his own net 13 minutes from time.

"Carlisle will feel they should have been more than two up at half-time," admitted Williams. "But in the second-half we created enough chances to have won the game.

"We had a frank discussion at half-time because the players and myself were disappointed with the way we had played. We didn't start right and didn't perform as a team and that first half was not good enough.

"To be fair to the players they showed battling qualities and we played some good football and created chances. I can't repeat what I said at half-time. That stays in the dressing room. But we deserved to equalise at least and should have had a penalty in the second half."
