Leyton Orient conceded two own goals in the first 17 minutes to set Bournemouth on their way to a comfortable home win.

Billy Jones put the first past keeper Lee Harrison in the eighth minute when he reached forward at the far post to head in a centre from the left by Warren Cummings.

Orient were still reeling eight minutes later when Matt Joseph got the last touch as James Hayter attempted to finish off a pass from Steve Fletcher.

Fletcher went close to adding a third in the 34th minute with a low shot narrowly wide after taking a return pass from Warren Feeney.

The second half belonged to Orient goalkeeper Harrison who denied Feeney three times in a five-minute spell in the second half with outstanding saves.

But there was nothing he could do on the hour when the Northern Ireland international collected a pass from Marcus Browning to score his eighth goal of the season with a powerful right-foot shot.

Harrison was at full stretch to turn over a Hayter shot after 66 minutes and then got down to keep out a low effort from left-back Cummings.

Orient refused to give up and after Kevin Stephens had headed over from three yards in the 85th minute, they got an injury-time consolation.

Striker Lee Thorpe turned on to his right foot 30 yards out to beat Neil Moss with a shot into the roof of the net.

Moss did well to save a low shot from Ciaran Toner in the 70th minute but Orient can have no complaints about the defeat.

Bournemouth's victory, their 16th of the season, keeps them among the Third Division pacesetters with nine matches remaining.

Feeney, who might have scored a hat-trick, was replaced in the 71st minute by Brian Stock, but by then Bournemouth were well on their way to victory.
