Two goals in a deadly 60 second spell on the hour mark saw Leyton Orient cruise to an easy three points and condemn Bury to their fourth successive league defeat on the trot.

First 17-year-old defender Gaby Zakauni cashed in on some poor defensive work and fired home from eight yards following David Hunt's long throw.

Then, 60 seconds later, Matthew Joseph crossed from the right and Leyton Orient's top scorer Gary Alexander fired home his sixth league goal of the season.

That put Leyton Orient in total control and they could have added more as Alexander later hit the bar and Lee Thorpe slid a close range effort just wide.

Bury caretaker boss Graham Barrow taking charge of his first game, admitted: "I knew it wouldn't be easy but I thought the players gave me everything.

“I thought we were getting into the game in the second half when we conceded a poor goal. We are in a bad run and have got to stop the rot.” The win boosted Leyton Orient caretaker manager Martin Ling's chances of being given the job on a permanent basis and he said: "I told the players at half-time to be patient and that the goals would come.

“I was delighted for Gaby, he is only 17 and that's his second goal in two games, I thought he played like a man today.

“It was a complete performance and that's what we’ve got to aim for week in and week out." Leyton Orient dominated the first half but failed to turn their possession into goals.

After just three minutes Bury goalkeeper Glyn Garner dropped a Matthew Lockwood corner on the line but Leyton Orient failed to scramble it home and that set the tone for the rest of the half.

Alexander wasted two glorious opportunities and Zakauni went close while Bury's only chance of note in the first half came when Justin Thompson fired a corner over the bar from six yards.
