Leyton Orient had to survive a fightback by visitors Macclesfield Town to secure all three points from a 3-2 home win.

Centre-back Dean Smith fired the O's in front after just 18 minutes and Lee Thorpe doubled the lead on the half-hour mark.

When wing-back Matt Lockwood fired home from the spot just before the break the game seemed to be over, but Macc came back after the break to almost grab a share of the spoils.

Four minutes after the restart veteran Lee lover sparked the revival by beating Rhys Evans in the home goal.

When Kyle Lightbourne also beat the loan keeper, the O's were looking shaky after seemingly having done all the hard work.

However, Paul Brush's outfit held on for the three points at Brisbane Road to leave Macc with just a single point from their two games so far this season
